On this occasion, we were treated to a choice of two buses to ride upon. The buses were supplied by The Lothian Bus Consortium, a group which owns and preserves several buses that were formerly in the Edinburgh Corporation/LRT/Lothian Buses and Eastern Scottish fleets. This evening there was the choice of Volvo Ailsa CSG 773S, which had been Eastern Scottish VV773 in its former life, and is now returned to its green and cream livery; and Dennis Dart/Alexander Dash K117 CSG, originally Lothian Region Transport 117 and preserved in that operator’s livery. This was billed as “The Thrash & Dash Tour”, and members enjoyed the journey with the usual stops for photo opportunities and the chance to change buses. Thanks to The Lothian Bus Consortium for making these buses available to us.
